How many ears of corn on one stalk?

A friend says their are five ears of corn on one stalk, I say there is one or two? What is it?

How many ears of corn on one stalk?
Almost always there is only one fully developed ear. There may be two on some hybrids or in really good growing condition. But any farmer can tell you, those "extra ears" are not developed, they are mostly cob and husk. Might look like three or four ears...but only one (two maximum) that is usable.

Now here is a good question...why are they called "ears"?
Reply:Only one suprisingly, What a waste of space
Reply:Depends on many things. There can be one to six. Six if the soil is good and if there is enough water.
Reply:One
Reply:it will be 3 or5
