How many ears of corn grow per stalk?

It depends on the variety-a stalk of corn will produce from two to six ears per stalk

It depends on the variety, but most sweet corn will produce two cobs although the second may be a bit smaller, count on one good cob per plant and plant accordingly, if planting in small areas, use blocks rather than rows. I plant ours in round gardens 4mtrs dia (because thats how our garder is set up) with plant spacings about 250mm apart and it works well.
Reply:I just read recently that each stalk produces only 1 ear of corn..I forget where I read it though,,sorry. I was surprised since I thought there were more per stalk..
Reply:one ear per plant if there is a second- it will be a nubbin

not worth saving
Reply:most varieties will form 2 ears per plant
