When do you remove the flower stalk from Yucca plants? Or, do you?

According to what I've read, the plant usually dies after it blooms but it should send out baby plants for you. After the stalks have dried gently trim them so you don't risk tearing away more than just the stalk.

I never have; but if you don't like the looks of the stalk, after the flowers have died off you can cut it.
