How much of an asparagus stalk should I cut off?
HI! Take a stalk and start from the bottom moving upward, trying to easily 'snap' the bottom of the asparagus stalk off. When it easily 'snaps', uniformly cut the rest of the pieces in the bunch, as they ought to be about the same. OR...cut only about A 1/4 in. off, and then peel the bottoms up to the green with a veggie peeler! Good luck!!

Reply:If you hold at both ends, then bend it, it will break at the correct spot.
Reply:You can cut off as much as you want, but if you just hold the asparagus in your hands and grap one end it will snap off where it should.
Reply:Like Joan said, hold it at both ends and bend it, It will break at the spot you should cut off..
