Can people stalk you online by knowing ur IP Address?

like for example, u went to a forum or u visit a blog, can someone else living in another continent stalk u and find out the websites u visited because they knew ur IP?

Without direct access to your computer, or your actual connection (ie, sitting between you and your ISP tapped into your line), or without direct access to your ISP's logs... noone can stalk you in the manner you have described from some other continent.

In order to track your websites from some other continent I would have to literally hack into your computer and put some kind of monitoring software on it. A proper security suite installed from a reliable vendor that is updated vigilantly and is operated with a little knowledge, safe browsing habits, and some common sense.. will protect you reasonably from this.

In order to access your connection via a man-in-the-middle attack I would literally need to have access to the signals coming from your computer and travelling along the wire or wireless. From another continent this would not be feasible.

In order to access your ISP logs which would indeed tell me the exact websites you have been to... I would need to not only work for YOUR ISP but I would have to have the kind of access at that ISP to get to your specific logs and I would have to subvert all of that ISPs security in order to do it risking my job. The only other way would be if I was a federal agent with a court order.

Aside from that, unless I am using some super government spy surveillance... like carnivore or echelon... it ain't gonna happen.

Hope that cleared things up for you.

Good Luck
Reply:YES: without a shadow of a doubt.
Reply:why you would you give your IP at first place.

they won't stalk you unless you do very silly thing like advertise it.
Reply:They don't need an IP to find you...especially the Ninjas.....
Reply:Someone with the right knowledge would be able to carry out some sort of monitoring. But unless they had intent to do so, no one would go through the trouble honestly. Ensure you have a firewall installed, all passwords arent set to default, and you'll be safe :)
