Why has my banana tree turned brown? the center stalk area is still green but the rest is brown. Mississippi?

It must have been frost burnt. the center stalk was protected by the older leaves and it will reshoot. Your banana tree is coming back to life.

You really have'nt supplied enough info to determine a cause of why your bannana has turned brown. For instance. How old is your tree? Has there been a cold snap? How does it get water?

Generally, turning brown, IS a sign that the shrub/tree is lacking water. The center is still green, so I would try adding water, I don't know where it was getting it's source from before, but it may have dried up. Good Luck with it.
