Why do some birds hop, or jump, and others walk or stalk, and others run and scoot around on the ground?

Birds that move more easily on the ground (walking / running) are those that spend most of their lives on the ground, mainly eating things they find there. So they have developped ways of getting around that are more advanced than birds which spend most of their time in the air or in trees. The latter have shorter legs and feet more used to grabbing branches.

Why do some birds hop, or jump, and others walk or stalk, and others run and scoot around on the ground?
They all have distinctly different personalities. Some like hopping, while others like jumping. Birds are unique, just like people.
Reply:They act according to their shape, size, environment and sauce of food
Reply:some arent clever enough to walk so they have to hop/jump
