If you have a multi-switch, (signal, wipers, etc, all hooked together inside the column) you do not want to replace it yourself. The air-bag has to be removed and replaced. Most small shops will not even try it. Call the dealer to double check. Maybe you will be lucky and it doesn't have the multi-switch, but I would bet it does. I have not had experience with the Vectra, but in the family we have replaced multi-switches in Ford Escort, Chevrolet Cavalier, and Buick Regal. Most modern cars have a similar system, and they all break down in the signal switch part it seems. Good luck.

with help from these people i managed to change my idle valve, air flow meter, cam sensor and 2 gaskets in 1 day.
Reply:No you need to remove the 2 cowls on either side of the steering column, you can then remove the indicator mechanism, there are 2 plastic clips that hold it in place.

Hope that helps.

Reply:no just remove the coul behind it is held on with screws underneath i think it is four, then remove coul then you should have access to indicator which is held on with another two screwsif i remember correctly
Reply:no you dont they just unclip from the main coller press the two plasic spring clips and pul sideways and then unclip multi plug it is that simple, done on my mums corsa and they all are the same component as i found out when replacing it from a scraapy chappie this is after i dismantled half the bloody dashboard as well took all of 5 minutesto do it in the end.
