Why do people stalk others?

I was stalked recently. I was wondering what compells people to ruin the lives of the people they are stalking?

Why do people stalk others?
I don't thing the stalker understands that it "ruins" the life of the person they are stalking. I am not saying that it is right. It is actually pretty freaky. I once had an ex that followed me around, and he still has a high school picture of me in his wallet. It is inconvenient for the person being stalked and it makes it hard to want to go anywhere alone. I just think the stalker's infatuation overcomes any common sense that they might normally understand.

Reply:My sister was being stalked by insane guys who stole her purse at the mall so they knew whered she lived and all. However, I think it was all in her mind because there was never any evidence and so forth. Not that I'm saying your stalker experiance was all in your mind because it probably wasn't, but that's all I know about stalkers.

Reply:It's preety weird that they stalk other people for their own pleasure.They have psychological troubles and there is something intentional in their mind.There was this girl in my class who stalked a guy with a girlfriend.Everyday,she borrows my camera and take pictures of the guy.I knew that she was stalking because there are some papparazzi shots in the cam memory.I deleted the pictures because she was stalking.She was really upset but I did it for the respect of other person and for her lesson
