the water will seep into the celery carrying the coloring with it, it will be more colored near the bottim and fade as it moves higher up the stalk. this is also fun to try on flowers like white roses carnations, etc

Reply:SImple it will turn the color of the water but cut the tip before you put it in so it can drink
Reply:The stalk would take in the colored water just like it does for nourishment if there is a fresh cut on the bottom. Depending on the color of the water you will see the color changes in the stalks and eventually the leaves. When the stalk is split open and observed under a microscope or magnifying glass you will see the individual trails that the colored water takes. Hope this helps.
