Is it possible for someone to "stalk" you by using the internet?

Yeah. I used to be a hacker. They get your IP, then they connect to your computer using programs like netbus, subseven, CMD. Then they can look at your computer screen by installing a certain program (don't want to let other people know about this). Before they do this, they scan to see if you have any open ports, if you have a firewall, you'll be safe.

EDIT: If He's really scaring you, disconnect your router from the PC and call the internet company for a new IP. Chances are, he's obtained ALL of your passwords and personal info. You might want to contact the proper authorites for this situation. This is a serious issue.

Is it possible for someone to "stalk" you by using the internet?
o yes one time on google if you put somebody's phone number you get their address very easily. i believe they have removed that now.
Reply:Here are some places people can find info about you that you might not know about:

Voter registration records (can usually be found on county websites)

Court records (many times online, they can find your speeding tickets, the car you drive, your address)

Real Estate records--again, can be found on county sites

All they need to find all your info is your first and last name, which many people put out there with no hesitation.
Reply:Yes. Report him to the Police, to your internet service provider, and to his (I'm presuming it's a guy) internet service provider. It would be helpful if you could save copies of whatever he is doing --- if he is IM'ing you, sending you emails, etc.

If he is a minor, or you are a minor, that is a whole other ball game, but is something the police should still handle.

Start to save everything.

GOOD LUCK
Reply:Yes there are net stalkers "aka Predators" most times it is just some guy on getting obsessed over you on-line "Sad I know"

Not to scare you but if he is truly good and has some equipment Yes he could hack in and find any info you have on you're computer or find out where you are by your IP address

But trust me it is highly unlikely

just block him, report him, and if he finds you again tell me and I will do my best to get him to F*** off just use my Answers to contact me.

Hope it goes better for ya
Reply:Yup! I had that happen before, BUT I got my cousin to scare him away. (online)
Reply:YES IT IS THEY ARE CALLED NET STALKERS. THEY FOLLOW YOUR EVERY MOVE.
Reply:Yes he can stalk you on the net, on the street at work just about anywhere...if he has your email address what else has he found out about you????

Today it is so easy to find out just about anything you want to know about anyone for a price....you see those search sites...they tell you to look for your long lost friends from high school or your first love???? See how easy it is???

Contact your carrier and tell them your problem and also any website you are on like yahoo or hotmail...they have ways on dealing with these freaks...Look also into Norton or McAfee they have a program that keeps your Privacy Private....no cookies or outgoing cookies...check into it....

Good luck and Take care of yourself

Surf the net alittle more defensively.....
Reply:Yes it can happen.I have heard people claim to be "bullied" on the Net too.How someone can be intimidated by words on a computer screen,i have no idea.People are just sissies these days, i guess.
Reply:Yes if they are following you about
Reply:Oh yes, they can. I had a guy actually do that, he had a strange obsession for me, I blocked him he changed his name, got blocked again, so I had to change my username. LOL!!

Be careful, people on the web can be CRAZY!
Reply:stalking goes on all the time. If it becomes so obsessive that you feel you are in danger though, maybe you should contact the people below:
Reply:DO NOT REGISTER for any free giveaways, catalogs, websites, billing addresses, etc. that share your email identity with your real name/address and be aware sometimes phone listings are online. Just put your name in a google search, or one of those online background check places and see what happens. The best thing is to always use a false ID when chatting online, and don't share your actual photo/statistics with anyone you don't know, always at least change your birthdate day of month or middle name if it doesn't involve legal/credit issues, and you may want to change your middle name as often as your online password. You may have to leave groups/chatrooms they associate you with. Don't reveal your place of education/employment.
