Why is my indoor bamboo going yellow on the stalk?

usually by this point they are done for (sorry) Stalks turning yellow from the bottom: too much fertilizer. Sadly, there’s probably little you can do at this point. Change the water and don’t feed, there’s a slight chance the your bamboo will recover. You can also cut off the stalks above the yellow part and root the tops. If one stalk turns yellow and the others look fine, just remove the yellow one from the arrangement.

I don't know why, but mine died after it did. The owner of the local Chinese resturant told me I should change the water and wash the stones every week-10 days. I have a new one now, and have been doing this occasionally. Good Luck.
